I was driving home tonight (after dark), it was snowing out, the temp was hovering around 30 degrees F. I got a radiator put in last Thursday. When I was driving home, I noticed that the TEMP needle was hovering around the N and the O (hot). I have never seen it get this high before. What is the culrpit with this? Temp sender? Thermostat? Bad radiator install? I dunno... Could a wet air filter cause something like this because I noticed some snow hat spun up into where the stock airbox used to be. I dunno.... Hope you guys can help!

Probably an air pocket around the sender, just keep checking that coolant level. Our coolant systems are a bizotch to refill.

So what do I do? Just make sure that there is a decent amount of coolent in the reservoir?

I forgot to mention that when I got home, I opened the hood and noticed that the cooling fans were on, so that doesn't seem to be the problem

Take a look at this. I was having the same problem. Take a look at your sensors first. Then check your grounds. Have someone run the Ford EEC-IV puter check for actual temp read by the sensors. Good thing about the SHO is it uses two temp sensors!

Well, I put in more fluid today... It was cool and I added a little more than I should've, so I know that it's fuller than full can get. I traveled all of about 2 miles and the needle was back at "N" hovering around that area... It's going to go into the shop today at 3:00 where I got the radiator put in. I don't have jackstands to drain the coolant to get to the thermostat. I was thinking of replacing it. Hope that's all it is. I just haven't really heard of having to replace a thermostat because the engine was running too HOT. Kinda unnerving thought.
