Is there a sensor that tells the car when the windshield washer fluid is empty?

I ran out of windshield washer fluid in my SHO. I figured some indicator light would show up on the dash, but I saw nothing. I could hear the pump trying to spray. I added some washer fluid and it's working, so I know it wasn't frozen.

I'm just amazed at the things that do or do not trigger a warning light.

Mine does. I use it to tell me when I need to add water for my IC sprayer.

Looks like the washer level switch is a direct input to the cluster. Its just and on off switch. So if you disconect the sensor the violet wire is the signal black grey is ground. Open is full, short to ground is low level.

My 2015 has a low washer warning, however since I’ve had it sometimes I push the washer button and nothing comes out even though it has fluid. I’ll try a couple minutes later and it will work fine it’s done this since I bought it. Frustrating but not the end of the world

The washer fluid pumps are pretty cheap and they fail quite often. Thankfully they are easy to replace and access. When mine failed it still made a noise but no fluid.

My pump is fine as far as I can tell.

Maybe my sensor is unplugged or failed.
It will not trigger a light if unplugged. I know that is true because of mine being removed and not put back in at times before I modified it for methanol

Not to be ignorant but what’s the reason for running methanol out of your window washer?

I know this is an old thread, but this just happened to my '14 SHO. Where is the pump located?
