window tint

now i just got pulled over for the first time for window tint(in the sho). dont they usualy pull the tint off right there and let you be on your way? thats what i thought. but she came up to the window with her little reader thing and i knew it was not legal. 14% and it needs to be 50% so i was like ok....and she took my licence back to her car and came back up with a ticket. i was like WTF. its a ticket for the tint. and she told me the court date and what the ticket was for and asked me do i have any questions. and i said no. then she was walkin back to her car and i look at the back side of the ticket and it says in HUGE LETTERS $130 bucks.....................i look at it again..........WTF!!! ok ok i know i shouldnt have tint. but is 130 bucks not a little steep? i mean i have NEVER got a ticket before NEVER not anything on my record EVER..so i guess iam going to fight it in court to at least get it lowered down on the price, cuz to me that is rediculous..i dont know

she didnt say anything about my loud ass exhaust tinted tails painted sidemarkers or anything...the thing that ****** me off the most is that they pulled me over with two squad cars. i mean do they not have anything better to do on a friday night??? like get all the drunk minors driving. this was in "college town" st.cloud i mean come on i could point out drunks 100 feet away from me watching me get the ticket.

If you remove the tint or retint at the legal limit before you go to court (bring the receipt) they might dismiss the ticket.

Usually thats how they do it here anyways. If you get a ticket for tint you can have tint removed and bring your car to the police station to show them and the ticket is dropped. I think the tint ticket here is $90 or $100. Im a little skeptical on getting tint now, i have enough tickets LOL

I got pulled over by a trooper last year because of my tint (33%). He gave me the ticket and said that was only to guarantee that I took it off. He said to show up with proof that it was removed and they'd throw out the ticket. I didn't even have to go into the courtroom. But my tint was starting to turn purple, so I chose to remove it instead of paying the fine. If I had nice tint, I would have paid instead.
