Their site says "No, this part does not fit your 1992 Ford Taurus SHO." Not sure where you got the gen1 and 2 thing from.

From the pictures, that sure looks like a rear mount for an MTX sho. It's $13 +shipping.
Let us know.

Looks right to me without having a scale to work from, as 93rev2sev has said, for a MTX.
That would be the deal of the century.

Its not even a rear mount. It might be a for an MT-5

whats the catastrophe? I just dont see why I would I should pay a core charge for a re-enforced motor mount.

The reason why is no new mounts are available. So we take old mounts and rebuild them. You can send in the old unit first and then we send out a rebuilt on or you can pay the core charge and we send out the rebuilt unit. Its because we need the cores to rebuild.

i have never paid a core charge IN MY LIFE.

never

this is because i return the broken item (or in some cases, a similar but equally valuable item) at the time of OR shortly after the purchase of the part i require.

therefore, i have never "payed a core charge so someone can rebuild mine and sell it."

The point of a core is so that someone can rebuild yours and sell it, so yes it is a "core charge concept comprehension catastrophe".

Here, let me give you a hand with this, since you seem to have missed this lesson:

New "Re-enforced" motor mount: $130.00

- This is what is costs for a motor mount that has been re-manufactured into a reinforced motor mount.

Core Charge: $65.00

- This is a deposit of sorts. The terms of you buying a mount at $130 is that you send them your old mount, so they can re-manufacture it into another reinforced mount for the next guy. The $65 charge is motivation for you to remember to send them your old mount. When you send them your old mount, guess what? They refund you this $65. It's like you never even paid it!

And that's the principle of a core charge. You don't pay it, unless you neglect to return your old part. Return your old part, get your core charge deposit back. It's that simple.

Was that clear enough for you?

Thats cool and all but I dont like the idea of paying a core charge so you can rebuild mine and sell it.

Think of it this way. The cost of a rebuilt mount is $195. You pay the fee for the mount and they send it to you. You install it and your car is now fixed.

Now, what will you do with your old mount? Door stop? Paper weight? Anchor for your bass boat? Why not rebuild it and then sell to someone else who needs a mount? Oh wait, we already established that you dont know how to do that. Since you dont know how to rebuild one and it is pretty well useless as is you might as well sell it to Sho Source for $65. At least that way you get a little $$ for something that you would just eventually throw away. Right? Now your total out of pocket cost for the rebuilt mount is only $130!! Pretty good deal if you ask me. What do you think?

For $13.00 it is tempting to buy it and compare it (side by side) with a mount from a SHO. Even if it had to be tweeked a bit, it would be worth a shot.

Not really when you can still get new rear mounts.
