Will these work as SFC's?

I happen to have a couple of box tube steel rails. Mesurments are 3/4''x1 1/2''x74 1/2''. and they just happen to be powdercoted black. i mocked them up to the car, and they fit almost perfectly. i might have to cut them down a few inches though. But will it be worth it to put these in, considering the size of the tubing? i know SFC are a little bigger, but for just having these two laying around, it might not be a bad deal. from what ican tell they are supposed to run from the box in the back, to the front, up close to the rear of the subframe, right? also, these dont touch the rails. should i notch them out at the ends,so they can weld them to each or every other frame rail? I am going to be installing alot of sus. upgrades soon, so if i can get a break on something, this might be it. what do yall think?

Yes it sounds like they will work. Be sure to weld up the ends and in the front put an angle on them so the subframe doesn't catch on it if there is a bad wreck.

Well there is a problem there. i have a welder but no plug for it. :bonk: go figure. that is probably the only thing we are going to have to do at your house. not unless you have another place to do it?

hahaha, yeah, i usually ALWAYS have my tools in the trunk, including 2 jacks, 4 jackstands and several SHO parts (fuel pump, tensioners, accessory belts et al). if i dont have it, i can improvise. im very crafty when it comes to not having the right tools. i even have brake spring pliers for drum brakes...coil spring compressor, 1/4" steel plate, heater hose, grease gun, carb dip (for rebuilding carbs)....and sometimes my pool cue...its nice to see a $400 pool cue laying in my pile of tools. when the trunk is loaded, there is about 800lbs in the trunk. without that load, my car handled better on the run...no weight transfer/shift...was more difficult for me to get the rear end to swing out on me.

now that im totally off topic....

it isnt a simple "set n tack" kinda thing. the car has to be level all the way around, with all tires under full weight. a drive on lift would make it easier, since most are level front to back and side to side. the material has to be fabricated before installed. ie- angled, cut, deburred, then welded together....then welded to car. what kind of facility is it ?

hhhmmm... well when you put it like that...
i guess i have to take it to a muffler shop, or something. My "facility" is a garage. but a big garage to were i can put my car in. no lift...yet.
