I have 16"x 7" wheels with a 35mm offset. I am wondering what a good size tire would be, and also if I will need to modify my fenders at all to make these fit. Any help is appreciated.

Those should fit just fine, as long as the bolt pattern is correct. For tire size I would recommend a 225/55/16. Maybe, since it is 7" wide rim, you might be able to squeeze a 235 on there, but maybe someone else can confirm that.

Thanks for the info. I know the bolt pattern will fit. I just wasn't sure about the offset. Do you come down to PIR at all for the drag's

I have 225-55 16's on my '89, with slicers. They fit fine, but I did cut off some of the plastic trim that sticks into the rear wheel well. With a 7" width wheel, I would just stay with the 225. The 235 may be too wide on that wheel as the wider wheel pushes the sidewall out. A 235-55 would be taller too, and you probably don't want a taller tire.

I have Goodyear RS-A 225-55/16 on 16 X 7 with 36mm offset. The fit is perfect,,BUT,, you will have a little torque steer. What year SHO, and what size brakes? As the rotors got bigger they also got thicker. That decreases the offset too!! So, if you have 10" rotors the 35mm is ok, by the time you get to the 96'11.5" rotors the effective offset is more like 32mm and there is lots of torque steer, even worse is torque braking.

89TRAIN No I really don't get down to PIR to much. But I was able to go to SIR/Pacific Raceways for the importmix night races, only 10 bucks to race. ( I would rather not discuss my times )
The "All Ford" drags are this saturday, but I have to work. If you are talking about going to PIR, then I assume you are in southern WA? Vancouver/Longview?
