I plan on sticking 99 SHO wheels on my 93. I hear that the 99's wheels are capable of 235-245 tire width (correct me if i'm wrong). Whats the widest I can go with no rub on the 93? Thanks.

The Gen III rims, either the '96-98 or the light weight '99 are all 6.5" wide. I wouldn't recommend anything wider than a 225 width tire, say a 225/55-16.

If you want to run a wider 235 or 245 tire, you will need at least a 7" wide rim, but more likely a 7.5" rim would be preferable. If you go with say a 245/50-16 tire, that's about the same height as a 225/55-16 tire, you will need a 40-42mm offset rim to keep that tire off the rear struts and sheet metal.

On my 93 super sho, I am running 245/45/17 on a 7.5 inch rim. The offset is 38 mm. I have no rubbing and a TON of stereo in the trunk.
