Here we go again. Just when I thought I had my SHO working well, it decides to hate me again.

Front left door speaker has a high pitched whine that matches the engine RPMs.
Started out of nowhere.
Didn't seem to affect anything until I left it sit for a weekend.
Try to start it but it's dead. Jump it, drive 10 miles and come out after 8 hours, dead.
Check parasitic draw, nothing.
You can also head static popping in the speakers when you press the brake pedal?

Where the **** to start?! :(
(I have a Power Probe ECT2000 Short Open Circuit Detector and a multimeter btw)

Check all grounds, clean if needed. Check the voltage put out by the alternator, wouldn't be surprised by a bad regulator. Check starting/charging circuits.

Can't not to add a reply in this old thread because I had the same problem several months ago  I'm curious how you fixed this at last? In my case the problem appeared of nowhere too and later I was told that it was caused with the low-quality speakers, as I understood the general repairment would cost more than simple getting the new ones and installing them :oogle:
I decided to choose the second one, simply bought new speakers, Alpine and Polk models like here on cozzy are the best in my opinion, also Kenwood ones which I bought at last :)

However it's again necessary to check the gorund and all system, and also clean them time till time because such things cause damage for speakers (and it was one of the reasons why my old ones broke ).

I am with Zoomlater on this one, that little capacitor connected to the coil is the likely culprit.
