I need to do my timing belt, and my tensioner.

However, Since I have the next two days off, I figure I might as well jump on it while I can. I checked the autozone website and it says its on special order. I need to pick it up, and dont have time to order it.

Ill check napa and carquest tommorrow, And since I get discounts at napa and Car Quest, I would prefer to use them.

Anyone know of local stores that keep these in stock? Any brands I should steer clear of?

Good luck finding one in stock. I've always had to wait for them. Lately I've been buying them from RockAuto.

I just ordered a Dayco one from Autozone last night, it will be here tomorrow afternoon. Beats the price from anywhere else because tax is cheaper than shipping, gets here faster than buying online, and the belt was only $21.99.

Ditto on the Dayco. Just got mine yesterday probably from the same autozone as TYSHO. It was ordered on Saturday. Most anywhere you get it will be a special order. I called autozone, o'reilly's, pep boys, and checked the NAPA web site. All were special order, and AZ had the best deal by far.

You probably already know this, but there is a lot of other stuff you should replace while you are in there to do the timing belt. Just do a search on 60K maintenance and you can get all kinds of information.

Good Luck.

Meh, I picked up a quality feeling one from napa today with my discount.

Gotta love obtaining parts at wholesale.

And it was in stock, but after all the closest NAPA to me is the warehouse, so that may have contributed to the availabilty.

I bought mine off Cleburne Rd. The AZ off McCart seems to be an unfriendly place.

Oh yes, don't forgot those 4 oil seals in the front. You'll be wishing you replaced them if you happen to skip them!

I have been going to the one on McCart for years. It does seem like lately they have not been nearly as helpful and caring as they used to be. Although the manager did want to see the car when I am done with it.

I told him that you were never done with one of these cars and he just kind of looked at me like I was crazy. ****, maybe I am. But I will have fun driving again in a couple of days!

I like the quality and reputation of the Gates brand and the look of the belt, but the Dayco looked just as fresh after lasting 60,000 miles on my car.

Stay away from cloyes if you can. I think they may have a batch of mismarked belts floating around because I bought one a few months ago and the mark for the 3.2 crank was off by one tooth.

I had one, too. I think they just mark them all for the 3.0 motor.
