Where to get cams fixed?

I need to get the cams on my moms 98 welded or pinned. Where's the closed place to do this. And how much is it going to run her? She got 28,000 on the car now. How long can you let it go without the cams going out. I think I read the original cams should last 75,000 if I remember right?!

Get those cams pinned or welded ASAP. Check out www.v8sho.com for more info. I read that they can fail as early as 19K, or may last for a long time. Don't take any chances. Welding/pinning will be a whole lot cheaper than a $8500 engine

I just made a 13 hour drive to FPS in Atlanta on Thursday to get mine welded. I could have probably got them welded by someone local but I probably would have been their guinea pig. I'd rather have the piece of mind knowing that it was done right. FPS charges $450 for the weld and like $20 something for an oil change. Or you can go through the hassle and have the cams removed, send them to SHO Shop to have pinned and get them reinstalled. A big pain if you ask me and more expensive. With only 20 something thousand, I would make the trip to Atlanta.

104K on my 1998 SHO........ Cams not welded yet. Maybe sooner or later though. There alot of SHOs out there with high milage and nothing done to the cams....... For pease of mind you might still want to do it. But at 28K it should be still under warranty for long time...... I would wait till the original Ford warranty expired... My 2 cents

I know thats what she says but I'd rather have it done so that she not paying for a car with a blown engine by chance. The warranty is expired because it has been 3 years even though she has not hit 36,000 miles yet.
