My 94 SHO 3.2L (ATX) has a leaking head gasket and my mechanic dropped the sub frame and motor to replace the headgasket. While the motor is out, he noticed my power steering cooler is leaking. He said he cannot get parts from Ford so I have to dig up the parts. I have checked www.rockauto.com and www.fastpartsnetwork.com and I cannot find the power steering cooler. Am I not looking in the correct spots or should I look elsewhere?

Dont hear of head gaskets going to much. How did you know it was going?

Anyways unless you can get it form Ford I would go aftermarket for one.

A local dealership said they had one. Might want to check around.

I had engine coolant puring out of the passenger side of the motor onto my drive accessories when the motor was cold. For the first 8 minutes of running I had steam billowing out from the hood, headlights, and passenger side wheel well. Once it warmed up the head gasket sealed. It just got worse and worse to the point when I parked the car I was worried the local fire department might show up as steam rose 40 feet when parked.

I'm pretty sure it is the same cooler used on the SLO and Sable. You should be able to find one at a junk yard easily. It's also an easy pull since it right there under the bumper. I do have and extra one for an emergency but let me know if you don't have any luck I might let it go for cheap.

I bought a couple small tranny coolers from Pep Boys last night in case I could not get a steering cooler from Ford. I called my local Ford dealer today. They found one in Memphis for $67.08. I would prefer to repair the car with the correct parts. It's not worth saving $30 by using a tranny cooler instead of the correct steering cooler. Thanks for the idea though.
