After reading in the wheels post I think I have a symptom of a bad bearing. At speeds of around 45 and above there is a vibration in the steering wheel. All lugs are tight and I replaced the slide pins recently so it's not a stuck brake. Should I fear the worst? CV joints are under warantee for another 1500 miles.

Obvious first check is if the wheels are still correctly balanced. If they tossed a weight or they are wearing unevenly, the balance would be off and that would also produce your condition.

If that is not it, I would get into the Ford shop soon and have them find and fix the problem while you are still under full warranty. If your 3 year period is coming to a close, get them to do a full check of the car and get paperwork started on any complaints you have and anything they can find. That way it will still be covered, even if they do not get to it while you are still in the coverage period. I did that with mine and they replaced a pile of things just to clean up stuff, all no cost.

I recently did the brakes on my Moms '98 SHO and on the way back to her house for my cookies and milk, I noticed pretty bad vibration at about 60 mph. I got worse as the speed increased. I only went to 80, afterall I was on a side street. Unfortunatally she noticed it as well. The car has new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. So what in the **** is wrong with this Freaking thing now I say to myself.

I took the wheels off and on the front hub there is a burr that did not allow the wheel to fully seat on the hub itself. There was also two small burrs on the hole in the wheel. I smoothed everything out and guess what, no problem, (until she finds something else). I am quessing the tire jocky had something to do with this by hurling the wheel onto the tire machine from across the garage.

It's just a suggestion, check it out. I have never heard of or seen this kind of thing.

See Ya.......Jon

I have noticed burrs on my hubs as well. I am not sure what to make of it.
