lets see.......engine, tranny, gears, ground effects, seats, sound system, suspension, exhaust, and probably more that i'm forgetting. Night and Day man. Shade about 2 and a half seconds off the quarter mile. that's about 25 CAR LENGTHS. Just a little difference between the two :)

RobertTate:
whats the difference between the reg. Taurus ATX and the SHO ATX is there one???
-Robert still SHO-less
You were asking about the tranny,,right? The SHO ATX has stronger internal parts. I recall reading that when the ATX was first offered it was physically larger than the regular Slo tranny, hence the 3.2 being moved forward a bit more than the 3.0 As for the bolt patterns and hookups, I believe they are the same. Last year I sold a 93 ATX to a friend who had it installed in a 94 SLO. Or at least he thinks the shop put that tranny in his car.

If you're talking about the transmission used in each car, I'm not sure, aside from the fact that they (the ATXs themselves) are pieces of crap. I've never been in a Ford that had a decent automatic transmission. The tranny in my mom's '98 Sable is a clumsy, slow-shifting bag of spinning metal, and the tranny in my dad's '97 F-150 had to have work done on it right after he got the truck (about May or June of 1999; it had about 50,000 miles on it then). Maybe Ford has built some decent automatic transmissions, but I've yet to come across one.

I'm not bitter or anything, I promise. :D :p
