Well, I busted my front mount during a race so I figure since I upgraded the Subframe, next should be the mounts. Any suggestions?

Shonut extreme or Kirked (Kirk D.) mounts. I fyou still have problems you might have to go with extra stuff like a well placed strap.

I'm another proud owner of a shonut extreme front mount. My engine is much stiffer now, and the car has better power delivery and the shifting feels more refined and precise. Josh at Shonut is very good. I don't like the paypal payment method, but it's definately cheaper to use paypal than setup a merchant account that can do online credit card transactions. My account was incorrectly charged with the wrong mount. It was my fault for clicking on the wrong button, but I was sent an email that said I needed to confirm that I ordered the right part. I let him know that was a mistake, yet somehow I was charged a week or so down the road. Josh handled it well, however I didn't have enough money in my account to cover it at the time and the bank slapped me with a $30 overdraft charge. Josh said it was paypal's responsibility. I have my own thoughts. If shonut sent me an automated message requiring verification of my order, and I didn't verify, the transaction shouldn't have left shonut's site. It could be a glitch in shonut's ordering system, or a problem with paypal's setup. I don't know exactly how the whole system is setup, and don't care enough about the $30 to find out, get made, or hold a grudge. When it comes down to it, my motor mount arrived in good time.

It has already proven itself with two of my friends who swear they are excellent stick drivers. One is pretty fluid, but the other is not very good. When I was stock he tried to say my car had no top end pickup. He was in 5th gear at 50mph. I've told him to keep the revs at 2k or higher, but they always seem to forget. I really hate it when one of my friends forgets about the unsyncronized reverse gear. He ground reverse once, so instead of stopping and thinking he just jammed it into reverse and made an even worse sound. He has been told repeatedly about that, yet he can't rememer. Does anybody here let other people driver their car? I'm not letting others drive my car anymore unless it's an emergency. For some reason, people always want to drive my car. It's so damn annoying!!!

When replacing mounts you need to make sure the nut that holds the mount to the subframe is very tight. I'd go back and check on it a few times for the first week or so.

I understand your feelings about letting others drive your SHO. I always make sure to pull it in myself when I'm anywhere for any type of service (anymore I do most of my own). Usually I get asked to just do it myself, LOL.

The only person who I trust driving my SHO is my girlfriend, since she has her own and has been instructed about keeping it in good shape. I know some other idiotic people who shift way too early and would never let them touch the SHOs.

So far my mounts are doing alright, but if ever given the need to replace them, I will certainly be ordering the SHONut mounts.

Not having ever experienced Josh's mounts I really can't comment on them. But I can say that I have all three of my mounts reinforced with Kirked mounts, and I love them. The price is right (~$40 + core) and they have only left me with one negative, sometimes in the rain it's hard to get moving without making the tires break free. Especially if it use started raining cause all that oil and stuff is right on the surface on the road.

My engine moves less than 1/2in in either direction while having sitting with the parking brak all on, and me putting the car in 1st or reverse.

I think the best part is the cost, cause waht you get is a mount that retains most of the stock feel, while locking the engine down. I was tempted to remove the roll dampeners to see if the engine would move more without them. But I doubt that it will.
