I want to paint the little "SHO" thing in the passenger side dash red to match my car, but what kind of paint should I use? I tried regular spray paint, but it didn't stick. I didn't want to sand it either cause I like the grainy stuff on the surface. Any ideas?

Did it have anything on it oily like a protectant? You should clean it well with Alchohal I did the same with black Dupli-Color spraypaint and it still nice and shiney :) .

Definitely clean it first in hot soapy water to remove any residue (like Armor All) that might be on it.

Most auto parts stores carry Duplicolor or PlastiKote interior/trim paint which is formulated to adhere to the plastic pieces.

The best paint to use is made by SEM.I have 98% of my interior dyed with it,and noone can tall it`s not factory. It is a hard plastic and carpet dye. It`s been the whole season, and there is no wear marks on the door panel or center arm rest.It wears like new.

Andy, I had the body shop paint all my interior pieces with automotive paint, but if you're just gonna do the emblem, Dupli-Color should work just fine, as long as the surface is clean. Chuck used it in his car and it turned out great.

You two are real mature  .Theres been smooth sailing for a while now,and your posts were WAY overboard. Many people would believe that painting the interior parts of a car is rice,it`s just an opinion.Fwiw,i dyed my interior to change it all to black. It was NOT to do vents, etc.
