Well this is kinda a 2 part thread.. just because I don't feel like making 2 different ones. First off my car is sitting lower on the driver side, and the rear driver side wheel has alot of negitive camber. What could be causing this? I thought it was a blown strut but my friend said if it was blown it wouldn't make it sit any lower... Oh by the way my suspention right now is Intrax with GR2's in the front and stock struts in the rear :nut: . Don't ask me I didn't do the suspention. So what is causing that.

Second thing is.. I really want my car to handle really nice.. I want to do alot of suspention things to my car, but I really don't have any choose to do different set ups. The only thing you can really choose differently on is struts, and springs. Now I want my car to handle really well and at the same time have a really aggesive stance. I like the way my car sits now with the intrax's but I just don't like the springs. So what I was thinking about doing is going with coil overs. Now are these really worth the money?? I was going to do coil overs with either Koni's or Tociko's. But I will probably go with tokico's because I can get them alot sooner, and my stock struts SUCK!!

So I wanted to know if they are really worth it, and how will this set up handle?? I was gona do more stuff to like front and rear strut bars, and a H-brace, and a few other goodies.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

No problem with the springs it's your struts that suck, stick some Tokicos on there and you'll be wistling a different tune.

Add strut tower braces if you don't have them, GTP tubular arms and an H-brace.

You can have all the suspension goodies but if your struts suck and youre tires suck, you'll still have a terrible handling car.

Going with a lightweight like 15 pound 16" rim and between 7 1/2 TO 8" wide will make a big difference.

8 inch wide wheels and sticky summer tires will greatly improve your car's handling.

Ok.. yeah i was def thinking it was just my struts.. they suck so bad. They bounce all over the place. Its harible and almost dangerous. So what do you guys think is making my car sit lower on the driver side. Also a strut problem?? I am getting a alingment done on my car next week because it is horrible right now. J/w if I put the new struts on will i have to get another alingment done or should I be fine? Oh yeah one last thing.. My steeringwheel has kinda like a dead spot in it. What can be causing this?? Im kinda thinking it is the tie rod ends. So I was gona replace them before i do the alingment. I just want to make sure Im right.

So you guys are saying that the coilovers aren't worth it.. I should just get struts and see what I think after that.

If you got coilovers you'd still need new struts.. but, should you decide to get the coilovers, get them from here

Intrax and tokico will make a nice setup.

Ask SHOKid13. His setup is amazing. The car doesn't move under accelleration.

Do you know what he has or should i just ask??

Oh and about that place with the coilovers. I already read a post about getting them there... and one of the guys at midwest SHO chimed in and said that they need to be modified to make them work. And the ones from him were already modified and are already to bolt in..

I know it is kinda rare but does anyone have have coilovers on here?? And how are they.. And yes of course i know that you have to get new struts with coilovers.. Is that like DUH?

There are a lot of SHOs around with coilovers. I have a set that I've been using on the track for quite a while. If you really want the best possible handling you can get, then you're going to need coilovers.

HOWEVER, you'll need to figure out what spring rates that you want, and depending on the spring rates you may need to have the Konis (the only practical damper for coilovers, IMHO), revalved at the factory.

Oh, and if you get it to where it has the "best" handling, you won't be able to drive it on the street without beating the car apart, rattling your fillings out, and breaking your back. It'll be way stiffer than practical for street use.

The alignment specs for "best" handling may also not be good on the street.

If you just want something that will handle well on the street and still be streetable, then look at Eibach or Intrax springs and Tokico struts or Koni inserts. You may like that a lot better than hassling with coilovers.

Quaife, S.B. DXD w/ Josh's C-TOB, machined-lite flywheel, Koni/Eibach, '96 Brakes w/ Bobcat/F-Street, 225/50-16" ES100s, SFCs, EXTREME motor mounts, 23/26, Al-SFBs, TPR Bushings <--from his signature.

With this done, the car launches amazingly as it stays completely flat. I envy him and will have this done to mine piece by piece :).

Well basiclly I am about to do one or the other of 2 things... I getting very tired of just throwing money into SHO's and I might just get rid of it. I just don't think i can handle it anymore.. Or I might just stick with it and make it one of the best handle STREETABLE SHO's around. I want something that isn't gona **** me but i don't mind stiffness. I think the Intrax's with koni's would do that for me. And from there I would do some other things like a H-brace, and STB's. I think I just need to make the decicion.. Bizzy I might be contacting you pretty soon. LOL
