What struts should I buy , KYB , Ford Motorcraft or Monroe the prices are roughly the same in the $60.00 to $65.00 dollar range for each strut , I am looking for a good street performance strut , were the original Ford struts made specifically for the SHO? this is a May 1991 SHO , thanks for your thoughts.

Of the 3 choices you posted, Monroe Sensatracs hands down. If your looking for performance strut, get Koni adjustable inserts.

Monroe if you want a slightly stiffer than OEM ride.

Gabriel if you want to pinch every penny you can.

KYB if you want a ****** ride within 10,000 miles.

This is my take on things from reading the forum, I have only used the Gabriels. And yes, I like them(for comfy commuting 30 miles each way to/from work). They seem to be holding up well and were $35 a pair!

Another one for Monroe's. My Red 91' has Monroe and Moogs (moogs are cut) and the ride is firmer than stock and handles quite nicely. My White 91' has Tokico and moogs (cut as well) and the ride is alot firmer. The Monroe/Moog setup is a little bouncy-er than the Tokico/Moogs (the tokico/moogs are not bouncy at all) but does provide a comfortable ride. Plus with the Moogs being as cheap as the Monroe's, you can have a nice suspension for cheap.

I agree, Sensatracs are the way to go. I have had them for 15k with Moog coils (Cut) and they are a little stiffer then stock and feel much better.

One coil-cut Moogs / sensa-tracs / strut mounts here, 5K. Soft and fluffy very much like stock, not a noticable performance increase in handling.

Would recommend them for the conservative driver. If you want performance, go with Tokico.
