Ok, I'm still not exactly clear what you're asking, but I'll take a shot in the dark. If you are looking to disconnect the fuel lines, you'll need a 1/2" and a 3/8" spring lock coupling disconnect tool. You can buy a complete set at Sears for about $9. If you need to replace the actual fuel lines, they are discontinued. If you have a leaking line and not a leak at the coupling, your next course of action will be dictated by the location of the leak. If it's in the lines running below the car, you'll need to locate a high-pressure fuel injection line repair kit. Regular fuel line will not suffice. If it is the portion of the line in the engine compartment that's rigid, you'll need to find a replacement.
smithsil, the above information will probably apply to your friends situation. You don't mention if the line itself is leaking, or just the spring lock coupling. If it's the coupling, you can replace the o-rings. If you need to replace the line, best bet is to find one out of a parts car, install new o-rings, and splice it somewhere under the frame rail with the high-pressure kit mentioned above.
