Hey everybody. I want to replace the stock mufflers on my SHO and was wondering if anybody had some input on what I should get. I was thinking about Magnaflows, Flowmaster's, or Borla's. I plan on leaving the third cat because I read it creates some backpressure, and that is good for the V8. So what muffler would sound the best? would it be noticeable if I left the third cat? and does anybody know what size muffler I would need to get (inlet/outlet size, offsets, dimensions). Any input would be appreciated!

The only thing I don't like about the Flow's is the way they look, and the fact that you can see them fairly easily. I think I would like the sound though.

I have a set of Flowmaster 40's on my car right not. They were cheap as **** and are starting to sound a little raspy.. I am going to try the Bullet's next time around.. alot of guys swear by them and they are stainless steel..

The only thing I don't like about the 40's is they have a pretty nice drone at freeway speeds..

I too have the Flo-Pro's V-Force Series but with the 3rd cat and resonator removed. It sounds great, not to load when just cruising around but if you punch it then the secondarys open and makes for a nice little growl.

I think you guys are making my decision harder. All of these sound good but I'm starting to think I don't want Flow's. Keep the suggestions coming!

JSIL1, do you know the details of your mufflers, sizes and everything, or easier yet the part number?

You don't need no stinkin mufflers. I wish I had a video of Tim's (SuperHO) car..well, his wife's car actually. Just nice straight tips stickin out from where the mufflers used to be. Sounded amazing, ofcourse I'm sure it would become quiet bothersome on long drives...

...heh, he actually said he wanted it to be louder

I've got super 40 flowmasters on mine with no 3rd cat and an aftermarket resonator to take care of the rasp and the car just sounds just plain threatening...

The Silver Bullits are great, SS so they wear well and Don at DC Care Car is a great guy to get them from: http://www.dccarcare.com/

After my Rhino Mufflers rusted off in a few years (bought them in California, but Pennsylvania trashed them in 2 years), I needed a stainless model. Also wanted the great sound the Bullit's provide.
