Just wondering what kind of turbos are being used on these cars?
the size of these things are rediculous to fit in the motor bay.
What kind of cars are the turbos coming off of?
Same question for the super chargers.
Are the superchargers coming off the 3.8 super coupe?
I myself would never consider tackling a job this precise.
But if I had the money to pay someone to do it, then it would be in the near future.
I understand there is a lot to do, but is it actually worth the time/money/effort? ( For most SHO enthusiasts it must be )

Vortech makes the supercharger, but they don't make a kit (bracket and piping) for the SHO. All you need is a custom bracket and some charge piping.

Do some reading, you can answer all your basic questions that way :thumb:

These turbos are all pretty much special made fabrications to fit. You can use any turbo or sc you want. Some are models new in the box and others are used units from other applications. Depends on budget, fab skills, and personal choice.

If I were to go turbo I would probley just run a garret or turbonetics t3/t4 .57 trim., maybe even a .50 trim for less lag and quicker spool time. As far as superchargers I would like to see what an intercooled Procharger setup can do on these cars.

To small. It would be choked up past 5k.

Thats wat a remote turbo setup would use. And is used by the only remote setup. IIRC it a 60 trim T3/T4 hybrid.

a supercharger off a 3.9 coupe either has to go in place of the intake manifold (sticking out the hood) or rammed down at the bottom of the radiator just in front of the engine

turbos: t60 / t61's are a good option, precision pt-67 is to large, ill be using a 7.3l powerstroke turbo (one of the years w/ an intergral waste gate)

if your turbo isnt to huge, it can go behind the engine in the tranny tunnel, should be as easy as a rear mount w/o any of the drawbacks of one, the other spot the MTX guys use is obviously the airbox spot

for an auto, right front wheel well is the way to go, as long as you dont mind taking some material off the subframe in places its not really needed anyways

I'm using a Garrett T04b/T3(I believe this is the designation) from a pre-powerstroke 7.3 Ford truck/van. http://www.usdieselparts.com/morein...urbocharger_-_Garrett&CFID=818845&CFTOKEN=780

This turbo works very well for my setup. full boost is around 3K and breaths great all the way to 7K. The lag is minimal and the wastegate is adjustable from about 2-12 psi.

Here's a couple pics.

These turbos are a bit hard to come by but I managed to get mine used off ebay for around $175.
