so i have no cruse, horn, and my airbag light is giving me code 53 (i think) blown internal fuse.

i figured the problem would be in my steering wheel. when i took the air bag off this is what i saw.
Steeringwheel001
Steeringwheel008
Steeringwheel006

so from that i think i found all the sources of my problems (maybe not horn)

that plastic peice in the last pic was just sitting the the column. i just reached in that little hole in the wheel and pulled it out.

the wires on the airbag were quite tore up. it looks like they crossed and that's what i think made the fuse blow. and the cruse wires speak for them selves.

now, thats all fine, but my question is how do i fix this and what would cause that? i think the white plastic in the column is messed up. sothing just doesnt looks right.

anyways, any ideas?

If you are thinking what I think you are thinking, the white plastic is a part of the clockspring. It's hard to tell if it is damaged until you take the airbag bracket off. The clockspring is required for your horn and cruise to work. Luckily it is easy to remove and replace.

so do i need another clock spring from another 93 sho? or can i pull on off a regular 93 taurus at the jy? since those broken wire have plastic connectors i think i will just replace that instead of trying to re-wire it.

I think you'll need a Gen 2 owner to answer that. Your setup is different that mine. Though from your picture the clockspring looks the same.

You need a new clock spring. Any Taurus/Sable from the appropriate year will work. Make sure that if you get one from a junk yard that the wheels are pointed forward when you pull it and tape it down afet you remove it is it won't rotate.
