Do you know underneath the car by the tranny, there's the white **** with a hole in it to connect to the shifter ball to put the car in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and reverse. Mine keeps coming loose so therefore I can only shift in 2nd and 3rd, why is it coming loose and how do I keep it connected. It a real simple job, you can do it less than 5 min. but I just need to know that...help SHOmates! :madflame:

Mine is doing the same thing. I don't know where to get one either so I just rigged it temporarely and used a plastic pull tie to hold the ball and joint together then another tie to hold the other tie from slipping off the ball and joint.
It's pretty great.

Somebody please tell me what to do about the situation, I would greatly appreciate it. You say you rigged it up, did you use some type of wire or something?

I guess wire would work too.. I used the white pull ties that you get at any store for tying things together.
Whatever you can use until you find a new one.

But what I'm trying to figure out is why is it coming out when b4 it was all right? Is there something missing inside of it that keeps it clamped in?

Are you talking about the bushing in the shift rod that connects to the ball on the shifter? That's normally an interference fit with the bushing being slightly smaller than the ball. When they're pressed together the bushing expands a little bit to hold onto the ball.

Apparently some of these either wear out or somehow otherwise fail so that they become loose. Josh at SHOnut sells replacement oversize balls and bushings for when this happens, but I'm not positive that those maintain an interference fit or just a tight fit.
