Just got back from Florida. Hope the meet went well. Went 2 work today and on the way home the car pulls to the right hand lane wall hard. She has been pulling a lil' bit lately but geez. So I try to back the car in the drive, like I normally do & the car won't move. The driver front wheel in facing North & the passenger wheel is facing West:oogle: . So...rack & pinion problem or what? I got it towed to a shop but I don't want to get robbed. They won't start working on it until the morning.

yah, sure sounds like a tie rod that went out. You might as well replace the steering rack, it's like 10 min of effort past replacing inner & outer tie rods. Inners are hard. You're gonna get charged a lot for labor. Not as much as, say, a tranny swap, but if you can find a ZF rack to swap in from a gen 3, they're a direct-fit replacement and a **** of a better rack. If not, no biggie. But yeah, def. tie rod(s).

Thanks for taking the time to respond :thumb:. Since I didn't hear back from anyone after an hour or so i just took it to Fink's Auto shop here on Victory Blvd. They told me $672.00 man. Needless to say I'm feeling sick to my stomach. Ready by Tuesday. W/ 168,000 + miles on her I'm wondering if she's worth it. BTW, where are you in Portsmouth? Are you the Green SHO in Shea Terrace? I'm in West Park View next to Scott's Creek.
