Ok, 95 ATX. Subframe was dropped recently to change sway bar and access trans to swap solenoids. It was realigned as the camber was balanced when I got it aligned.

When backing up it sounds and feels like you ran over and popped a couple cans or plastic bottles popping and crushing them, and it feels as if the car went up over something slightly when in reality nothing is there.

Had a friend look under the car and he says it looks like the trans moves up and down when this noise happens.

Any suggestions.

Didn't seem to notice this before subframe dropped. Also occasionaly am feeling a subtle vibration in wheel when steering left or right at freeway speed.

now you know what happened to the neighbor's cat.....

seriously, it sounds like you might have a motor mount issue with the rear mount - that would allow the trans/engine to move up/down as you attempt to back up, and that would result in the "up over something slightly" symptom as well. put a block under the oil pan and see what happens when you try to jack it up - does the rear of the engine/trans go up?
