Hey guys. Wanted some Personal opinions on a few upgrades I am looking to do. I already purchased the newer SHO Fender Ornaments. Now I am looking to upgrade the front grille. I am planning on doing one of the two scenarios below. I would prefer to keep the FORD logo on the front. I think it still keeps the character of the car then.

This Mesh grille UPPER:

With this Mesh Grille LOWER:

OR

Do more of a Billet Style:

I am also ordering the Airraid CAI and some brake caliber covers.

Here are some pics of my ride currently. I haven't done any mods but now have the money to start bringing stuff in.

Just my thoughts:

I would leave the grille alone.
There is a product called Plastidip that allows you to paint something, then remove it in one big elastic sheet. I would zero in on that area between the headlight and the grille. Do a black plastidip paint install on that area, the height of the headlight, and have it run from the headlight to the grille, and see what it looks like.

I would not buy the brake caliper covers until I priced a true brake upgrade (like maybe what is on upgraded models, or bigger rotors and a different mounting bracket for your existing calipers). If the second choice is available, I would paint the calipers, as they are grime free and will look great.

kupton123456's post
I want to say if you can wait until mid October I will be selling my airraid kit over e-bay starting off at $0.99 and I will throw in the calipers in with the sho air intake.

In the past I bought these brake covers and was talking about them here in the sho forum where this some punk who owns the gen 2 was talk mad smack about them. I not getting rid of them because of the mad smack but I am driving with only the back ones on right now.

I was having problems with rubbing in the upper part of the disk brake on the left side and I was so embarrassed riding with a bad ass car going squeak…. squeak…. squeak…. squeak…. squeak…. squeak….

Here are some photos with my brake covers if you can't get a good view I have the word "SHO" in black on the covers

I will be also placing my blow off valve too in a different auction, just because it can be universable to other cars. But who even wins the auction will be getting the radiator hose I use to attach the blowoff valve with. As you can see in the next photos how it was placed on my sho

And please I have done a lot more to my car then the photos show of my sho. When I am even close to the finish of adding more parts I will post more updated photos. I don’t knoe if anyone remembers where I was asking in the past how to crack you headlights.

I repainted them the color of my car and placed LEDs in side

Wow, trying to stir shit up again.

See this is what I am talking about,

I am just trying to help someone who would like to have to the brake covers on their car and other people just have to down grade other people's ideas to try to boost up the looks of their car.

I am sorry the only upgrade for the 2010+ Taurus in the brakes cost over $2000. Who has the money to place that for calipers? Maybe the most of us can only afford the $200 part to cover the look of the factory calipers.

Ok I am sssssssssoooooooooo sorry for you out there who can buy the $2000 part for your sho

And I am out of this conversation,

OK I think there's some confusion. My intial comment was to Sam, I should have quoted him.

I'd still rather have painted calipers, but to each their own.

Learn how to take a dissenting opinion. You sound more immature than the "young punks" who were talking all that mad smack (lol @ your choice of words) in the original thread. Did you miss the part where Echo was looking for opinionS?
Hey guys. Wanted some Personal opinions on a few upgrades I am looking to do.

Well I'll be darned. He DID say that.

As an aside, thanks for circumventing the classified rules:

...classy.

And I am out of this conversation

Thank you.

Echo, sorry your thread got derailed. Some people need to be reminded that this is a discussion board where people can post what they think.

Back on topic, I like the mesh grills over the billet ones. As for the caliper covers, I'm gonna have to side with the "young punks" - they're not my thing. But as Bob said, to each their own. And by the way, welcome to the forum. We're not always ******** at each other. The covers seem to be a touchy subject for some. :)

Oh yeah, that's what this was about! :)

+1 on mesh grilles. I think it'd look great on a white car.

Caliper covers, not so much. I'd put that $200 toward something else and paint the calipers if you don't like the stock look.

As fro said, welcome in.

The brake upgrade was a bit more than I imagined (at $2,200.00 before taxes).
The upgraded rotors are 14 1/4", and you may need spacers, which won't be free.
Those brake caliper covers are starting to look pretty good, even at $280.00.
I would think someone will market a brake improvement system using the original calipers, sometime soon.... but until then at least you have a choice on the appearance angle.

I have the MGP caliper covers. To be honest I do not care what others think of them, I like them. If you like the look then go for them. I feel the car has sufficient braking power for my needs, I do not track the car, in fact I don't drive the car hard at all. But the look of the MGP covers pleases me. I went with black ones that do not stand out but they cover the factory caliper which I find ugly. I have had these since the car is new and have had the brakes replaced once so far. No noise and no problems installing these and then reinstalling them after brake replacement. They are a quality product. My car just hit 45000 miles.

It sounds like an outrageous claim to say these covers reduce the temperature of your brake caliper, but who knows?
It may be that they act like a heat-sink in electronics. You increase the surface area of a hot part, and the heat dissapation improves, and the part runs cooler.
I don't know enough about it, but it is another way of looking at it.
