valve guide seals

Simple questions.... What is esier and more cost effective...

1) Change the valve guide seals with the heads on
2) Change the valve guide seals by first removing the heads, which would allow for a "head cleaning" and a head gasket change?

That all depends what you want to do with it... If you want to clean the heads and possibly replace the valve guides themselves, then you have to remove the heads. If you want to just replace the valve stem seals, you can do it either way.
