Well, if you're saying that I'm smoking crack, you should tell that to SPDATT, because he's the one that recommended covering the seals with Silicone, not me pal.
And so far, it's working.
SPDATT Also said that he tried the silicone while the valve covers were off, and it leaked horribly when he tried that method. Scott knows what he's doing, so if it didn't work for him, I'm not trying it. If your's worked, good for you...that's cool. I'm not going through that much trouble, though.
And no, unemployment will not pay for my valve cover gaskets. I'm getting $178 per week and I have bills to pay. The reason I'm getting so little is because I have a contracting business on the side, and I don't report the money I make from it to the IRS all the time...or I haven't reported it yet for last year. This means that basically, my biggest quarterly earnings last year doing part-time work, was just over $4000. LOL I didn't work full-time or part-time much at all last year. My reported earnings for the year were less than $7500, which is the first tax bracket. Now, I probably made two or three times that much doing contract work...but as I said, I haven't reported that yet, and I may not since it was totally "on-the-side" work that no one knows about. I setup computers and networks for small companies, do satellites and cable...stuff like that, on the side. Otherwise, I'm a computer tech (on the record, as far as the IRS knowns, hehehe)...so that's what I do when I work full time. And yes, I'll get a gasket set just as soon as I start at Microsoft Mid April and start getting paid decent money.
As for now, I'm broke...and if I can same myself the trouble and money of taking the valve covers off and replacing stuff, I will.
I was on a time schedual that day, so I didn't have enough day light to do anything else. Gotta' go, later guys!
