There should be a way to get more made! I mean, dang, it's just a bolt, right? So what if it has a few shoulders and whatnot?

He needs the rubber grommets. I believe they've been obsolete for awhile now. You might try RCM for those.

According to Josh's website they were only available with the bolts, but I do seem to remember buying them from Torrie some years ago separate from the bolts. I don't remember what the part number was though.

Plug Well Seals

Hi

Does anybody know a good spot to get the following;

  • Plug Well Seals
  • The bolts and seals / grommets that hold the valve cover on
This is important as it holding me back and I'm not in an area where there are alot of SHO. So anyways I prefer to find new (yeah right) or used ones. I know there are other methods. And I'm not sure what works best for most people, but I wanna try the orginal method first.

Any Help Would Be Appreciated!

:thankyou:

Mike

I tried to find them new about a year ago. Found a dealer in San Antonio who had some for as best I remember about $25 each. If you want them new you will have to find a Ford parts department willing to do a nationwide search for you, and hope you get lucky, and if you do, be willing to pay a big price for them.

Otherwise it is pretty much a salvage yard, or someone on here who has some extras laying around.

Actually Both Seal & Grommet

Actually I need both. I need a set for my 93 and 94 Sho. And I'm pretty they are the same. Does anybody know anyone on the forum who deals with them used??

:thankyou:

The plug well seals you can get in the Fel-Pro valve cover gasket set VS50378R. The gasket set is available through most parts stores and online vendors.

As to the valve cover grommets, as stated above there is no current source for new grommets - you'll either need to improvise or buy them used. I'll see what I can find out Monday.

If your talking about the part I think you are, you could just find some at the junkyard. My brother was looking for a few valve cover bolts for his car and we pulled I think four of them with the little rubber grommets and they gave them to use for free.

Well, I would like the Ford OE part number to see if the grommets were US-sourced or Japan-sourced. If it's the latter, there is always the possibility that the grommet may still be available in other Japanese applications, and/or possibly even directly from Japan.

One of the other instructors pilots where I am at, use to give me a hard time for buying the SHO. That was until he bought a Lotus - and has since found that parts for it are even more scarce than parts for the SHO . . . . :laugh_ti:

I need one of the short valve cover bolts, the ones that go on the driver's side of the valve covers. Does anyone have one of these? John

i hate those bolts, they strip out too easy! I would buy an extra set if anybody was selling them. I have a few that i would love to throw away.

bolt seals

I take it no one has found a fix for the missing valve cover bolt grommets? I need a set mine have become brittle but still in tact. I would like new ones but unfortunatly no one has ever even heard of a such thing. Is there any fixes out there that will insure a leak proof seal? Any suggestions?
