Valve cover bolt problem

Alright guys so I did the intake and valve cover gaskets, one of the upper VC bolts on the rear was tough coming off had to help it with a flat head. This bolt also had quite a bit of leakage around it. After installing every thing and going to tighten back down this bolts is spinning.. I read up plenty on here on the process of VC removal and how easy the bolts were to strip. I was very careful and had no other problem except with this bolt. I tried a different bolt on this whole it spins too. What kind of fixes could I use here? Would a good bead of RTV and tighten down to maximum before spinning work on this?

So is the threaded hole stripped out or did a piece of the threaded bolt break off inside and nothing can grab and seat? Either might require a helicoil to fix. The second also will need extraction of anything stuck inside. If it's just the hole stripped out you need a kit with... 6mm helicoils? (pretty sure, been over a decade for me doing this). There should be plenty of archived posts about this issue and google should have general helicoil how to videos and stuff. You can do it.

Its threaded whole I can get the bolt out no problem just doesn't tighten down.

read up on it and then coil the hole and you should be in business. Alot of us have had to do this.

Agreed. I'm in the middle of this process on my 1995 MTX.
