About a month ago I was rear ended by a lady in a Camry late for her hair appointment. The impact pushed me into the truck in front of me that had a tow hitch. The tow hitch went through the front grille and dammaged the radiator a bit.

Dropped the car off at the Body Shop last week. Gave them a call today to check on the progress. So far the front and rear bumper covers need to be replaced. The exhaust also needs to be replaced. The guy mentioned a rear quarter panel needing to be repaired/replaced. Then there some stuff in the front that they haven't gotten to. He still needs to hear back from State Farm but its possible they just may total the car. so if that happens, what would a fair value be for the car? Its a '98 with about 120K miles in excellent condition. Engine welded just got new tires and brakes. Only thing that needed work was the suspension, struts were worn out. Engine ran great but tranny was flaky.

The only way State Farm will total your vehicle is if the total repair cost are more than the Net value of the vehicle itself.

Well State Farm just called and said they will be totalling the vehicle. Says the vehicle is only worth about $4900.00 and the initial estimate is already at $4400.00.

let them total the car then buy it back for like 2 or 300 and part it or find somebody that will fix it for cheap ;)

a car hit in the front AND back isnt something you want a discount repair on. think about it, youll need most of a car's worth of parts to fix it anyways ...

much better banking the $ and parting the car, or buy a sho that had cam failure and motor swap it using yours ..
