I found a 1998 Black SHO for sale. The exterior is perfect, no door dings, no scratches, and no chips. Interior looks brand new. The center rear seatbelt latch still has the factory warning sticker attached. All the options on it. Still has the original RS-A on it. You could eat off the engine. Runs great although my '91 is stronger. Price is $15k. Carfax is clean. What do you think and is there anything I should look out for? Thanks for your input.

15K is a bit high...talk them down. 1997's are going for just over 10K.

Might be worth a bit more being extra clean though.

Get an extended warranty. Cam or tranny problems would be your only downfall in the future. Although they are spread out a bit. Just the luck.

How many miles?
I have a 98 too and my build date is 7/9/98. Now if it is a 98, then the factory warranty is already over. If it is less than 36k miles I would still ask them to lower the price to about $13 with a Ford ESP until 100k.

If you can get them to kick in the 6 year, 100k ESP, it sounds like a very reasonable price. You might also want them to kick in a new set of tires (not RSAs), if you have any more flex in negotiations. But the ESP is worth a good deal more to you, so it should be the main point.

Damn.. these cars hold no resale value AT ALL. Another thing, I spoke to Ford themselves and they say that a warrantee that long was not available on the SHO, maybe it's because of the year of my car in relation to when I bought it, but I could only get a 4/48 mo ESP on it.
