Upgrading to Remote keyless entry from keyless entry

the touchpad on my door has gone south, and I replaced it only to find that the new touchpad is showing the same issue. I was at the boneyard today and found an RKE controller out of a 93, and was wondering if anyone had figured out a way to modify the wiring harness to retrofit it to a gen1? if not, I think my shop manual will have the pinouts for the old RKE, does anyone have a resource for the new pinouts?

and am i just trying to **** upwind here?

I've got the conversion schmatics to make an RKE work with an non-remote keyless unit ('92 or older). Just send me an email and I'll send them to you.
