upgraded speakers needed?

buying a new stereo for an '89 SHO, and not sure if anything else needs to be upgraded (speakers...), or if i can just keep everything stock. i'm not going for any kind of fancy sound system or anything, just nice and basic. as long as i can get some sound, i'll be happy.

I just recently replaced my factory reciever with a nice cd player. The only thing I highly recommend is getting an amp by-pass kit. I installed the reciever without it and it sounded like garbage. With it the sound is clean throughout the range... even until my ears start to bleed

Premium sound system and a nice cd player makes for decent listening thumb

thanks... just came back from the shop and had a sony player installed.... (we weren't thinking of buying today, but hey, no complaining that i have sound out of all four speakers again...
and they by-passed the amp.
