Any of the Gen.3 gurus have the harmonic balancer type UDPs on their machines?
I have seen where 1 or 2 have grenaded, and now that I have one to install I would like to ask the folks in the know.
Thanks, Brad

I believe that is the only type avaible for the 3.4L motor. (dont quote me on this). I heard mix opinions about the pulley. I do know the install takes time. They really didnt due any thing from my Mustang when I installed them so I havent done it to my SHO. (IMHO)

Even the crank pully is part of your harmonic balancer. Just some food for thought. I know the engineer that personally designed abd tested them for the Duratec line.

I did not mean people were having problems, what I meant was thet they did not live up to expectations of some.

I on the other had am not too impressed with power pulleys and for the price for one for my SHO .. it is not worth it to me.

I have the crank one on, No problems with it so far. I did not notice any gains at all. I also have the ALT and PS here waiting for me to put them on someday.

Back to spining the little 16" tires again :)

Guys, I would be very wary of replacing the crankshaft damper with a smaller diameter pulley. The primary purpose of this component is to dampen crankshaft vibrations. Its secondary function is to spin the accessories. To change the crankshaft balance from the stock setup is a risky proposition.

The aftermarket balancer may also stop "balancing" after a certain rpm, that's when the rod bearings really get hammered on. shoot
