Can Anyone out there direct me on how to go about a supercharger or turbo setup? I don't need anything fancy or high psi. Just wondering how to do this procedure. How to get piping dimensions, diagrams, where to hookup sensors and hoses etc.. any help would be awesome..

Both are very nice pictures.

The point is that there are kits available right now.

BTW, that's a really smooth install. I've seen some reverse mount vortech installs that look terrible. Very nice, Sir.

I think from what i read the turbo set ups and or sourcing of parts is alot cheaper then the super charged set ups correct? i mean some of these complete super charger set ups are over 5k easy and i dont think ashley and paul have that amount in both their turbos. of course i think the super charged are easier to plumb and mount.

All the supercharger kits come with brand new components. Ashley and Paul are using turbos and intercoolers off other vehicles to save a lot of cost. That comparison is totally irrelevant.

Considering all brand new components, the cost is very similar between the two. There are a couple of kits available right now for superchargers, and we're seeing the beginning of what could lead to turbo kits with Toolman's current group buy. But, like yamahaSHO said, a search is in order to answer this question.

using paul and ashley as examples for cost is not a fair thing to do in this case. they have done all the work themselves, had most of the parts on hand, and knew what they were doing. the original poster doesn't seem to know ANYTHING.

actually for most of us DIY types my post is important, sure the super charger kits come with all the new parts, but how many people have 6 k to invest into a 3k car? the comparison i am making is simply this, you can not source used parts from a junk yard or other wise for doing a DIY super charger set up near as easy as you can turbos, my point isnt to compare what kit has new parts and what has used it was to simply state that as far as DIY goes turbos are easier to source. since i fall into the group of people who does every thing them self and the majority of my income goes to support my family you will tend to notice that reflected in my post here on the forum, please dont hold it against me. but to answer the original posters main question , to go super charger write out a check for 6 k to one of the companys who makes the kit and then install it, to go turbo contact others who have working setups and or read their threads, and try and source parts from ebay and or junkyards ect ect. i think the guy above was pretty correct when he said if you used all new parts in a turbo set up it might be close to a super charger kit, however having every single part brand new isnt a requirement.

But it sure is nice to have a warranty on new parts. To do any type of accurate comparison, as many factors as possible need to be equal. So, still, comparing a junkyard turbo set up to a brand-new supercharger set up is still very innaccurate.

yay.. our names. lol. anyway, your correct, we are using "used parts" parts, but a lot are new. such as the tuning devices, new injectors, fuel pumps, ect.... but we are using used deisle turbos on both vehicles. we did try for all used parts, but eventually you have to break down and buy new. for example, we originally used a turbo from a nissan 280zxt or something like that and 38lb injectors from a modded supercoupe. which worked fine for a while, but then the small turbo runs out of air, and you want more boost so you get a bigger turbo, and need bigger injectors..then a bigger fuel pump.so you will probably have to buy those things new. as for doing the work, we do all the tuning and exhaust pipe bending, and ****** making and welding ourselves, that is a price to pay if you can't do it yourself. So I think for someone who may not know anything about turboing or supercharging, buying the SC kit may be a cheaper, more cost worthy...non-breakable way to go. For him, not for everyone. :)

maybe easier, but with ebay and junk yards and what not 6 k would build a heck of a turbo set for a DIY type person up even if you got ripped off on half the parts. if you cant do stuff on your own then yeah a complete kit is the only option.

I like oranges, never been a fan of apples.

I think it depends on the kind of apple. You have the Red Delicous apple, The Golden Delicious apple, The Red Rome apple, The Winesap Apple, The Granny Smith Apple, The McIntosh Apple and the Jonathan apple.

Until you have tried all 7 Of them, the SHO can beat a Mustang in 3rd gear.

I dont know where you get 6k from. A NICE blower setup shouldnt run you anymore than 3k. Leaving out the fuel upgrades, guages, tuning, and misc because any forced air will require that anyway. Well..... For most people anyway
