what are the options for tuning a SHO? iv never tuned a car before and im a little nervous about the twEECer, because on another forum iv got nothing but negative responses about it being user friendly and learning how to use it. so im wondering what direction to go when i purchase a tuning device to make my car run with a turbo, fuel mods, 80mm maf, ect... and while im here i was wondering what everybody with a turbo was using for a boost controller and waste gate, blow off valve. im building a turbo setup and i just want to do what "WORKS" im not out to prove anything, just want a turbo sho that i can actually drive. all the fabrication is no problem for me its just the tuning end that im kinda fuzzy on.
thanks
mike

Tweecer is the way to go. It WILL take learning (from what I've read) but the program is free to download so you can "get used" to the interface before you even buy the hardware.

Just out of curiosity, those who were negative about the TwEECer, what did they recommend?

The issue with TwEECer, SCT, or any other type of tuning is that you have to LEARN how to tune first. You have to understand what you're doing with the various scalars, functions, and tables and how they effect what you're trying to accomplish in the calibration.

TwEECer is no more or less "user friendly" than any other type of tuning. Tuning requires a pretty high level of technical understanding of how your PCM operates and then applying that understanding to whatever tuning you're using. People who call TwEECer, SCT, or anything else "not user friendly" probably think there should just be a screen to type in a HP number and made it happen. It doesn't quite work that way.

FWIW, when tuning V6 cars, I use a TwEECer to tune them on the dyno, and then export all of the calibration changes to the SCT software and burn a chip. This makes it less of an overall investment for the end user, they don't have to learn how to tune, and they can't accidently blow anything up by trying to change something they don't understand.

Can a Tweecer tune be burned onto an LPM chip ? Still have one of the Ted B chips here and if I could get a dyno tune....hmmm

Yes, but (and it's a big but -- yeah, yeah, no pun intended), the problem is finding someone with the ability to burn the LPM.

If you were able to find such a person/company, you could give them a printout of all the changed functions, tables, and scalars and have them make those changes and burn them to the LPM. Of course that's assuming that the LPM software can account for all the same parameters, which the last time I saw the Autologic software up close it was rather limited. But, realistically, for most cars as long as you can access the base fuel table, spark tables, and MAF xfer function you'd be OK. The problems arise when you have to start manipulating parameters that the LPM software can't access.

Rockford IL just north of Chicago, but can maybe come down. when are you going to be in St. Louis? learning from someone like you that has been somewhat of a pioneer in this field would be top notch! :hail:
