Well, I have sucessfully removed my intake, now some questions.

1. My EGR "tube" was not attatched to my exhaust  . It doesn't appear to be broken, but how is it fitted to the manifold? Assuming this has been a condition for a period of time, would this account for the "lean" O2 sensor codes?

2. Do the intake mounts need to be removed to access the valve covers?

3. I have heard both sides of the argument for and against the necessity of dis-assembly of the intake manifold for an adequate cleaning. With no clear consensous, what is YOUR preferred method?

4. Are the Autolite plugs acceptable replacements for the Motorcrafts, knowing that they are manufactured in the same building? If not, what is the difference?

5. While the intake is off, should I also remove the injector rail and injectors? If so, how?

6. I currently have Taylor 8mm Spiro-Pro wires, they appear to be in good condition, what is acceptable resistance?

7. On e-bay, I see touted a resistor that is supposed to add HP by installing it in place of the IAT. Snake oil?

8. Why are we here?...oops, wrong thread wink

Thanks in advance EB

hmmm..

2. It would help to move the "mounts" if you are referring to the 4 that secure the intake to the block. The lower portion is slotted so you don't have to totally remove the bolts.

4. as long as the height of the plugs are the same fitment should be fine. Performance over time? don't know

5. no. Unless you are planning on replacing injector seals, knock sensor, or something. They can stay in for valve cover seal replacement.

7.hooey
