My SHO keeps trying to overheat. In stop and go traffic, I can watch the needle climb at a steady pace. It stays fine while moving.

I didn't really notice if the fans came on. I don't think they did.

Help?....

When is the last time you flushed the radiator replaced the thermostat? Sounds like a good time now, along with checking the fans to see if they are working properly.

How high does it get? Does it ever get outside of the "NORMAL" range? You can check the highspeed operation of your fan by trunign on the MAX A/C and then looking under the hood while the engine is running.

If your ECT was bad and reading cold to the ECU then I would think that the ECU isn't going to tell the fans to turn on. I know the ECU sees the AC come on and turns the fany on automatically.

If you don't go past the N in NORMAL you're fine, thought the maintence work Bryan mentioned wouldn't be a bad idea if it hasn't been done.

I had a few hoses replaced 2 weeks ago. I have no idea about the thermastat, I'm hoping thats all it is.

It climbed past the normal and almost into Hot.

Time to go back into the shop, unless I can fix it. I've only had the car a few of weeks. It sat for a week, then went into the shop for 2 weeks and I've been driving it for a week and a half.

First, go check your coolant level.

Then, go check your fans.

Apparently your are overheating because your engine fan is not working. Plenty of info here on that.
