Troubleshooting steering vibration

My new to me 2015 sho has an issue. I will sometimes feel a random vibration in the steering wheel. When I say random, I mean everytime I drive. When it happens it comes in three short vibrations, each lasting about half a second, with a half about a half a second between them. It is always three vibrations, never just one or two. If I drive 10 miles I may feel it 3 to 5 times. It seems totally random, doing it at different speeds. I had the wheels balanced and it still does it. Do you guys have any thoughts about what the cause could be?

You are sure it is not some sort of alert, based on obstacle detection or lane departure, etc.?

I never thought of that. Do some of these cars vibrate the steering wheel like that to alert the diver?

When I test drove a Fusion Sport before buying the SHO I mentioned to the sales guy that the car had a weird vibration when changing lanes(no blinker). He had know idea what it was. Sad that the guys selling the cars are so uninformed on the product they are trying to sell. Needless to say, he did not make a sale to me that day.
