55 south, Trooper, 70mph posted, travel 100mph.

Clean record, driving and otherwise.

What should she (by she I mean me) expect? Points wise, lawyer fees, fines, all that stupid shit. What is the best way to deal with this too.

I don't know about MO, but in NY you're not in any real legal trouble until you're 41 over the limit.

That said, hire a lawyer. The cost of lawyer fees and whatever fine you get will be a fraction of what your insurance company bangs you for if that violation ends up on your record.

Yep. I have paid to fix all of mine so they dont follow me. She cant seem to understand that, smart as **** but doesnt get you cant just pay it an it goes away. I might not help her out of this for that reason. Gotta learn.

My thing is I have heard 25+ your still getting points. No proof of that though.

Well to maybe give you a reference, I got my papers back from my lawyer on Wednesday. For 18 over I got pay 350 + court costs. I also get 1 year probation for my "breaking traction" but I'm pretty sure I wouldve got this regardless if I had the second ticket or not.

was it in the cape area? if it was me, i would just pay the fine. from what i've heard from friends with big tickets is that any of the decent lawyers in the area can get it fixed but charge more than the ticket for it.

No lawyer was 75 per ticket so 150.

of course your gonna pay more. That's the drawback of not having it on your record and higher insurance rates.

But you get the points then. It was 20-30 miles out of Cape.

I wasnt with her but she said all he told her was 30 over, dec 30th, Jackson courthouse, and moving radar or the ticket said that. Ill know a little more after work.

Well her family seems to think this is the way out. I talked to my Criminology professor today (retired cop) he says 1yr suspension. Going to talk to my buddys dad tonight who has the in around here so I trust his opinion over most. Then I am going to see what the resource officer at my old HS says.

Its really hard to say what will happen exactly but you only get on chance at it. Going to try and take everything I gather and talk to her parents about it before its too late in the game.

6 points will earn you a 3 year surcharge, 11 points will get you suspended.

40 over the limit is still 8 points.

She called him and he told her that he was going to try and find someone from the Jackson for her.

We will see. All I know is now is I gotta drive her down there and back on New Years Eve. Happy ****** new year

Hey Racer X is a seat belt violation a surchargable offense in NY. I just got one a few weeks ago and I was one ticket away from losing my license in MA and now I am wondering if it will affect my license in MA because of the ticket in NY.
