It was pretty cool! Had flowmasters on it, expected it'd be rude like a Mustang but it wasn't. Nice tone, didn't catch any drone. It was otherwise stock, didn't seem any quicker than my 3.0 but that's gotten a few mods.

The car drove sweetly, steering very crisp and precise. Is the rack different from a SLO? Maybe it just pointed out how worn the rack is in my Gen2. Does anything besides the brakes swap back to a Gen 2?

Wondered about the electronically controlled suspension, seemed firm all the time. Is that normal?

Cheers,

Gen 3 has ZF PS and rack and pinion, best in any car I have ever driven. I have an old set of SHOSHOP UDP which increase effort 20% and improve feel a little more.

It is like a very light car with no PS, quality of feedback is out standing, precision is as good as it gets.

... and it's got a MUCH stiffer chassis than the Gen2. The entire side of the car is a single piece of steel. Pretty wild if you ask me.

I'm still hoping that they turn a Gen4 Taurus into an SHO. :)

Well I can see I'm going to have to get a 2 and a 3 side by side and check if the rack is even close to similar. It'd be worth some fabrication if I could "bring that feel home"!

Hear ya on the stiffness, my 2 isn't exactly jello but it sure does need SFCs. And I was thinking it was just cuz the 3 had only 20k miles but it's more than that.

Cheers,
- Jeff
