Wow.
What can be said? Officially 39 cars and over 50 people with one the most balanced SHO/SVT turnout I think I've ever seen. Great weather, great times, great people and whoever thinks the enthusiasm has died in this neck of the woods should've been there today.
Tons of food, sweet cars, two detailing seminars resulting in a hot red Contour and a reborn green 92 SHO (ain't such a turd now, is it Steeda
) DUELING GT4 cockpits in the shop hooked up to a projector TV so the freakin game was like 15 feet wide on the wall... that was awesome. Ok, so I managed to rip the **** out of the middle finger on my right hand while setting up the GT4 area. No big, fingernails grow back but sadly the pic that chineseman took of my heavily bandaged & ducttaped middle digit didn't turn up on the card; methinks the pic didn't take. It's ok though, once I got home & peeled that old bandage off the nail I got a good look it's not so bad. It actually ripped sideways & tore up some skin on the side of the finger, hence all the blood. But pain is very slight; it's actually more uncomfortable than anything, and it's frustrating as **** to try typing without using it. But it's all good.
About that... BIG BIG thanks to Tim (SuperHO)... for helping me out when that little injury took place. I'm usually just fine, but it happened so quick and dumped out so much blood that I did get a little squeamish. But Tim was cool and collected & right there to help; your calm and confidence kept me relaxed and in control; can't say thanks enough
Between the fingernail incident and burning my hand while cooking the chili last night this meet has been kinda painful for me. But oh was it worth it.
BIG thanks to everyone who made the trip! Beth has already posted some pics... I'll post a few more as well as a vid of GT4 with the cockpits:
Roger R from the CEG, finishing up the clay & three step detail on a sweet 'tour:
Steeda wiping down his "turd" 92 after my two step refinish with the wheel & compounds (yes... torn up finger and all, with Todd's help anyway) :
