Hey new to the group just bought a 2011 sho have a transmission problem or PTU/PTO when I bought it it had a Rowling noise found out it was PTU/PTO replaced it with new one now it making a really loud noise seem to be coming from transmission. Thinking about replacing transmission but wandering if I have a non pp or a pp the axle code is 2A. And do they carry a different transmission

Welcome to the club. Fairly sure 2A is a PP car...tranny is the same, final drive gear is different.

Pretty sure, anyway. Wait till someone smarter than me answers.

What makes you think its tranny related? Does it shift smooth? Go from drive to reverse smoothly?

Every thing got worst after putting a new PTU/PTO in had someone run vin to make sure I put the right ptu in which seem to be the right one. That's why I m wondering is it the transmission. So decided to take the drive shaft out car shift fine with no noise but do have some transmission shudder when it shift. Isn't the final gear in the transmission?

The ring and pinion gears are in the differential.

Replacing the ptu should not be causing the issue you are describing.

Ok thanks maybe the rear differential the problem as of now been driving with drive shaft out

My understanding is, PTU in pp and non pp car is identical except for the oil cooling system the pp has.

Describe the noise a bit more...grinding clunking? Whine? Gravel swirled in a bucket?
