Hopefully if you elect to purchase this SHO Automatic, then you are getting it at a deal simply because you will be spending alot of money to get it fixed. Tranny prices vary in price from $1500 to $2500.

I have not grenaded my tranny yet, but when I do, there are only 2 choices for me:

1: Jasper transmissions: 3 year 75000 mi warranty which is better than what the Ford dealer offers. And costs like 1700.

2: Doug Lewis at http://fordspecialists.com/ rebuilds the best tranny we know of on this board since it is nearly bullet proof and can handle whatever you throw at it: nitrous or blower. Price is like $2250 though.

So, with that said, this Automatic better be in fantastic shape if you are looking to just get it and put the new tranny it it.

FYI: You can get SHO's very cheap in good condition with working tranny's at a low price. 1995 Automatic with less than 100K could be had for less than $3500......much less sometimes.

hope this helps.

damn thats a horrible deal. Pass it up, 1. the tranny is shot. 2. no 180k miles SHO is worth that kind of money with a busted tranny. There are much more out there.

WHAT?! oh_my shrug 700 bucks for a sho with no tranny and 3.2l is definatly within reason. my sho has 178k on it but looks better then 90% of sho's out there. if it's a nice car i'd say it's very much worth it.

NO its not, granted I bought my SHO for $1,000 and all it needed was rear subframe mounts. I'd say go for it.

For what it's worth, the car is worth whatever you're willing to pay for it. If a vintage SHO with over 175k that has good tranny on it is worth 2800 bucks to you,(700 + 1700 + misc) do it. If you can find a better deal, negotiate!

Good luck!
