Just started a 24hr run from Boston to Ohio and back to pick up another Lincoln Mark VIII, was about 3 hours into the trip and stopped off for a drink and bathroom break and my buddy noticed black fluid on the rear license plate. After some investigation I discovered that the tranny vent tube was completely disconnected. Whatever, placed it back on and continued on with the trip. 24 hours of straight driving to Ohio and back and the car was fine - kept checking it.
Dropped it off as soon as I was in my hometown again. Got a call yesterday that it was the main seal.
I've never had so many problems with a single car. I do love this car (obviously it's a nice ride) but I will not be getting another. It is a company car so it doesn't bother me too much but if this were a car I was spending money on I would have traded it in a long time ago. The only car in my life to leave me stranded - TWICE! If the car left me stranded in New York the other day I would have torched it. I have two 17 year old cars that I trust more than this particular sho.
Anyway, I tried not to hate on the car so don't get all huffy at me, but seriously I've had bad luck with this car and I don't trust it.
