My auto trans hasn't gone out yet, but i feel it is on it's way. i was wondering what's the best way to have strong trans, for not too much money. should i buy a used one and put a shift kit in, what is available for these trans's? does anyone offer good strong replacement trans's for these cars?

Thanks,

Adam

if its never been rebuilt, you will want it to be soon, even if it dosent fail. the ATX can be built to be strong,... of yeah if you own an ATX, its on its way out no matter what.. hehe

You get what you pay for. In my experience every time I try the cheap way out I get burned, spend more money at the end with more of my time wasted. The last episode for me was using a junkyard kevlar clutch with a reinforced pressure plate. After a few weeks of dealing with a clutch that worked like a switch. I pulled the tranny again and installed a CM stage 1. I could have saved myself a lot of grief by just spending the money for a new clutch the first time.
