Sounds like someone is pulling your leg on a part needing replacement...

I don't think my dad would do that to me

My bad, I was thinking for the MTX. It's rare you see someone here asking for trans rebuild help on an ATX. :nut:

Why cause ATXs never need rebuilding?

No, because more people are unwilling to rebuild an ATX over an MTX. Sure, I can pull an MTX and rebuild it myself, but I'd pay someone $1500-$2000 to pull my ATX out, rebuild it, then install it...I wouldn't want to do it.

Search on help for rebuilding an MTX vs ATX and you'll see what I mean. It's not brought up much, if any.

i'll take a look around at the tranny shop here in town were i got my diff from, mabey he has more parts laying around i could get off him, can't promise anything but i will try, it' too bad i didn't have my other tranny outta the car, i could have gave you the piece you need and i wouln't have had to buy a new diff. o'well, i will look and see what he has, your talking about the direct clutch that has the frictions and steels in it right? just want to make sure were on the rigth page.

Edit:automatics arn't that hard to re-build. just have to be very carefull, and keep a clean work area, i don't mind doing it, now taking it out and putting it in the car i don't think i will like, but the re-building part is fun.:thumb:
