I recently have been experiencing notchy shifting in my 91 MTX. I am going to change the fluid but every store i call doesn't have redline,Mobile 1, or GM syncromesh. I've checked autozone,Mobile, and many other places. I am going to get B&M ATF. Is there any reason that this won't work well. I am also going to add FORD Friction Modifier. Is this a good cocktail for my trans?

Most parts stores wil have Mobil 1 ATF.

The others will have to either be ordered online or purchased from a performance or speed shop. They're not everyday retail items for stores like Autozone, et al.

Synchromesh is usually in stock at your local GM dealership/service center. I tried Mobil 1 and the Ford friction modifier and it didn't seem to help but the synchromesh worked great!

i tried the B&M Trick Shift Fluid, and it performed worse than the old dirty ATF that was in it from teh factory at 100K miles..... the synchromesh worked wonders
