I assume you have a 93-95 ATX? I haven't done it, but I assume any AXODE/AX4S from a Taurus, Sable or Continental will bolt up to a SHO. Are they different? Definately! The SHO Tranny has a different Sun Shell and clutch packs with more plates. Numerous other internal differences also.
Here's what I did. Got a 94-95 factory rebuilt SHO tranny from the dealer for $1500 and put in the Shift kit. Check out the how-to article
