My ATX trans had/has a leak where it bolts up to the engine and I stuck some RTV there to stop it and it did. Now I want to know if this is safe to drive on or will something eventually happen? The tranny operates just perfect with no problems and I occasionally give it some gas when someone triggers me and other than that, it's just an ol' daily driver. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well you didn't stop the leak, you just stopped it from coming out of the transaxle case. You need to check your tranny fluid often, and keep it full. The leak will eventually become worse, and you will have to address it. That is all I got for ya, good luck,

I know I just stopped it from coming out :D , but is it safe to drive it like this? I know the MTX has a casing without fluid in it like most tranny's and was wondering if the ATX is the same way. I'm asking because I think if it was to fill the whole casing, would'nt it cause like slippage? I don't know about ATX's, but I'd think it would work like a clutch disc and flywheel, right? And with fluid, would just slip. Any advice? Is it just better to take the RTV off and let it keep draining out and check the fluid often? Thanks.
